Flashback to 9/11 and imagine the reaction if George Bush stood with the firemen amid the smoldering ruins and said the United States government will prosecute CIA interrogators for blowing cigar smoke in the face of the terrorist masterminds. The Bush administration would have been overthrown by the Honduran military. Seven years later and all common sense seems to be going up in smoke. Long gone are the images of Green Berets on horseback. Ranches, action heroes, and slap shots are out. Social media massages are in. The quitters can eat a hockey puck. The White House is white, not the American flag.
The Attorney General, Eric Holder, worked for the law firm that defended terrorists before he was chosen by Obama to lead the Justice Department, similar to putting the lawyer for an organized crime family in charge of the FBI. The Obama Justice Department is treating the CIA much like Henry Louis Gates went off on the cops. Their own psychological hang-ups and political baggage are apparently too much for them to put aside and view the world with balanced perspective. How dare a CIA employee make threats and poison the room with second hand smoke in the middle of a war. What was he thinking? This isn't Jack Ryan's war. James Bond is a KIA. The Surgeon General is the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Swisher Sweet cigar smoke has become napalm.

The CIA is our friend.
We do not attack our friends.
So who do ya suppose the leftists will blame the next time we are attacked? And they are setting us up beautifully for the next one...freeing terrorists...cutting the CIA off from interrogating the high-value prisoners...cutting our defense budget...inviting terrorists to live in our country...ON OUR DIME...and Lord only knows what they are doing behind the scenes!! Surely they won’t try to say they “inherited” those terrorists from the Bush administration!?!
We will end up with Holder and his pack of running dog lackeys behind bars ~ for a short time of course ~ because they’re up to doing stuff that’s going to result in their execution for treason and murder.
This stuff was pretty much started with the softer “root cause” movement. It then became louder and louder. Bush and all thought nothing of it, then outright expressed some regrets over Iraq, and we knew something was up already back then with respect to betrayal.
Now RINOs are not merely left of center, but have become even less apologetic than liberals in attacking a “confused” conservative base. Same neo-cons (aka materialy inheriting conservatives but essentialy spiritualy dead so) now are going to have their heads and legacies brought on spikes by Democrates for good form after their goods get looted out.
We told Bush not to trust them at all, but he insisted on wanting them to be “successful”. The assassination of Kennedy brought plenty of romance for the high office, and they all seem so full of such morbid profit vanities these days as a result. Who would want to share that? It’s become disgraceful.
It seems the real high office has been sought for in the past 100 years or so, but to nought. Affirmative Action was easier and PC. A sort of holier than though placebo for those incapable of matching the character of previous Presidents and generations.
The CIA should announce investigations of Justice Department dealings with rougue nations/groups outside of the US and dribble a few interesting tidbits. They can on their purview do this and put quite a few Justice department
folk and Holder too on edge!

While I agree with the overall thrust of this commentary, I tend to doubt that any complaint about cigar smoke was actually made, or that any report of same was taken seriously (ie, taken as a complaint).
Useful metaphor, though.
