President Obama bids goodbye to Ted Kennedy, 'a kind and tender hero' (BARF!!!)

BOSTON—Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has departed his beloved Boston for the final time to join his brothers, after a mass that celebrated his achievements and perseverance in the face of personal tragedy and political adversity.

Later today, Kennedy will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, not far from Jack and Bobby Kennedy, after two days of laughter and tears in his hometown followed by a Mission Hill basilica mass attended by four presidents and the family he served as an accidental patriarch.

“Although it hasn’t been easy at times to live with this name, I’ve never been more proud of it than I am today,” said Ted Kennedy Jr., whose 1970s battle with bone cancer left him with an amputated leg – and his father with a lifelong cause in health care reform.

“Although he lived a full and complete life but the fact is he was not done – he still had work to do,” said Kennedy, voice breaking as he spoke.

There were wet eyes throughout the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help – including those of President Obama and former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter, who welled up in the front pews.

“Through his own suffering, Ted Kennedy became more alive to the plight and suffering of others,” Obama said.

Yea, Obama, I'm sure Mary Jo thought he was "kind and tender" as she clawed her life out against the bottom of the car in that air pocket...or that the staffers and others who have complained of the man's arrogance and ill behaovior think the same over the decades.

I'm not understanding this. How does empowering trial lawyers and bureaucrats cure cancer? Didn't Ted Jr have the best medical care available? Why deny that to other people?

Have you looked into the supposition that Mary Jo’s body was too bouyant to have been filled with water, and that she died of suffocation rather than drowning?

I’ve seen the theory mentioned, have no idea whether it’s credible or not.
