ENERGY California renewable energy goals: The devil is in the implementation Environmentalists, unions and utilities seem to accept the governor's goal of getting a third of electricity from renewable sources. They just differ on how to get there.

“goal of getting a third of electricity from renewable sources”
That’s easy!
Just drive 25 million people out of California with higher taxes and no jobs.
Outlaw air conditioning and swimming pools.
Then the highly inefficient “renewable sources” will be adequate.
Green=Communism. They do not give a hoot about energy. It actually makes sense only if you are a Communist.
Because the union leadership has always been about filling their own pockets while convincing their people they are working for them. Just as with the UAW, they are supporting approximately 1 million retired members and doing so with only 96,000 members. That can’t continue. That is also why you pay so much for a new car. I saw this as a teenager when I was working in the grocery industry as a box boy. I never understood why I should pay union dues just so I could get a job. If I wanted to make more money, I asked for it. If I didn’t get it, I went someplace else. Show me a union that isn’t filled with crooks.
PG&E built a solar site in California Valley many, many years ago. Seems it was more trouble than it was worth.
Don’t think there is a trace of it left.
I have a plan to produce electricity out of unicorn farts.
Now if someone would only give me the multimillion grant I need for the pilot project.
And, yes, unicorn farts are renewable and green.
The “devil” is in the physics, and despite what these watermellons (green on the outside, communist red on the inside) think, politicians can’t override the laws of physics...
The reason these people are going along is that they don’t have to pay for it. We the consumer and the taxpayer will pay for it. It the utilities had to install this stuff without subsidies and without rate increases..forget it.
Why the idiocy? Get government out of subsidizing technologies chosen by governmenet elites and kickback and patronage laden incentives that suppress the operation of the market place.
