I am starting to wonder about that. The Kennedy family has many ties to Chicago, the most notable is through the Shriver family. Chris Kennedy (son of Robert) is CEO of the Merchandise Mart. Sargent Shriver ran the MM in the 50's.

I think this might have been a long time coming would not be surprised if after peeling all of the layers back we might see a Kennedy hand in Obama's rapid rise. All part & parcel of the Chicago Way.
