Only this Breaking News header on the King 5 news site, thus far:
"Shooting - Rapid shots have been fired at North Seattle Community College in the Northgate area of Seattle; I-5 southbound near college has been shut down.
WTF?
PING for the list.
BTTT
breaking news.
one of my alma maters.
Golly, isn’t that a GUN FREE ZONE?
Whoever fired that weapon is in SOOOO MUCH TROUBLE!
I live here in the Northgate area, and there are multiple police helicopters zooming about overhead right now.
BTTT
Is there a town hall meeting going on in the college?
Nothing on Google news....
Woah... KONG is showing massive backups on I-5. They’ve got it closed down both ways.
Not that I know of, at any rate.
Seems like nobody really knows what’s going on. Somebody said they heard gun fire, and the cops are cordoning off a huge area. But they don’t know where the shots came from.
nasty! That one’s gonna hurt. Both ways on a Friday night. Can’t imagine those downtown heading north for home. OUCH!
No worries. Mayor Dickless will ban all firearms in Seattle. IT will be real safe then.
Rapid shots?
It’s late there right? What time would it be? 10:30? The sniper keyword made me think of the maryland sniper shootings..
A report of shots fired near North Seattle Community College has prompted authorities to close down all lanes of Interstate 5 in the Northgate area.
Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt said the report came in shortly before 10 p.m. Friday. There were no reports of injuries.
Seattle police responded to the area. Witt said they were being assisted by the Washington State Patrol.
KING-TV reports that southbound lanes were closed initially, and then the entire freeway was shut down. One resident who phoned KING said he heard what sounded like “fireworks.”
I took some classes there back in the day and lived in Seattle as recently as 2007. I hope that it’s nothing too serious.
They just said on KONG that the reports were of shots being fired onto or across I-5, in the vicinity of the college.
