It’s actually Miami-Dade county.
Miami is IN Dade County just like Fort Lauderdale is IN Broward County.
Born and Raised there .. 57 years.
I can see why some would get confused about the Miami-Dade County thing though, especially after doing a Google search!
Not sure when it happened, when the City of Miami started thinking that ‘THEY’ were ‘ALL OF DADE COUNTY’ but .. ‘There Are’ other cities/towns within Dade County, just like there are other cities/towns within Broward County other than Fort Lauderdale.
We never started calling ourselves Fort Lauderdale-Broward County, though .. It’s a thought. LOL
