Does anyone know what trappings of the job this guy will enjoy after he leaves office - does he get a pension and access to the Senate health care plan just for serving 10 or 12 months?
To: OldDeckHand
I'll bet you he does get the pension and all the other benefits. Plus, I'm sure he'll really enjoy the Larry Craig restroom tour of Washington DC.

I wished he had picked Katherine Harris. At least we wouldn’t have had to worry about her selling out like Martinez did. She would have continued to vote conservative no matter what anyone said about her.

He should have picked former State Sen. Daniel Webster or State Rep. Ronald Reagan.

Yeah, local radio station crowing that this clown is a “moderate republican”. In other words a RINO.
Even Jennifer Carrol would have been a better choice. Catherine Harris, wow, she would have been a grand slam but of course Crist would never appoint a true conservative.
MEMO to Crist...if you have a glimmer of hope of winning this election, your aid d camp votes AGAINST Cap and Trade and the Health Care fiasco. Frankly if not, I will vote first for Rubio and if he does not get the nomination, I will cast my vote for anyone rather than you.

BTW this is the same aid who makes an appearance in that movie “outed” which alegedly out closeted homosexual politicians.
If it turns out this is another Mark Foley then Crist is finished.

Marco Rubio is EXACTLY what we need in FL and in the US Senate.
Oh, and let this serve notice to the handful of creeps on FreeRepublic who rush a thread anytime Rubio is mentioned and private mail people that we need to “look into his sordid past.”
BUZZ OFF! If you’ve got something to say, say it! Stop the fear mongering and deliver the goods you cowards!
Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.

Gov. Charlie Crist is picking his former chief of staff George LeMieux (leh-'MEW) to replace Republican Sen. Mel Martinez, who is resigning. State Rep. Jennifer Carroll, who was considered for the position, said Crist told her he is choosing LeMieux.

Well, I don’t see it as too complicated. We are judged by the company we keep. Does anyone here honestly thing the Crist’s chief of staff could be much different from Crist?
Hell’s Bells, I’d not have a COS that didn’t agree with me. You think Crist would have a conservative in that position?
Anyone think McCain’s top advisers are conservatives?
The GOP and its cadre of puke RINOs are destroying Florida.
