now the Rat candidate who has previously enjoyed a statewide election shellacking by McDonnell I would not exactly call McDonnell's victory in 2005 a "shellacking", if memory serves it was a couple hundred votes.

Wag, I don't know much about VA politics but the shellacking descriptive was used by RCPolitics, I think, for the previous statewide McDonnell vs Deeds election.
