And you know this how?

I agree with you about TK but you have no clue about anyone’s elses death bed confessions.

He’s gonna have a Catholic funeral. No doubt about that. And some in America and other parts of the world will say all these wonderful things about this scum of a human being.

“And you know this how?”

First let me say that Confession without doing the Penance (if you are able) is worthless. For publicly supporting the killing of babies in the Senate for forty years, Penance would almost certainly include a public statement.

Now, how do I know about what? That he was on his death bed for the last 6 months?

...for starters, He had the presents of mind to petition the state of MA to change the secession laws, so that when he died a democrat would fill his seat in the Senate.

Or, how do I know it will damage the Church?

Just watch.

If this were to be a low keyed funeral with just the parish priest it would be less damaging, but a “State” funeral attended by Bishops and Cardinals sends the wrong message, a very destructive message, to the faithful.

What bothers me is how we are tending to give TK the benefit of the doubt about some possible deathbed confession. We don’t know, and never will.

But, Kennedy managed, with his final earthly powers and resources, to get a letter out requesting the Dems in the MA legislature to reverse course (now that there’s a D governor) about naming his successor.

He easily could have used that same energy and resources to issue a letter stating how, as he approached his final breath and his meeting with his Lord, he regrets his promotion of abortion and other political positions he took that would be anethama to his Lord. But no such letter seems to have been written.

One can only conclude that he held his pro-abortion, gay marriage, embryonic stem cell research beliefs, etc. to the end.
