LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Smoke filled the skies over the Los Angeles Basin Wednesday as a quick-moving wildfire expanded to 750 acres in the mountains north of the city, officials said.
With high temperatures and dry winds fueling the flames, firefighters said just 10 percent of the fire was contained by morning. The National Weather Service said temperatures were expected to reach triple digits in the valley, the Los Angeles Times reported
Campgrounds in the Angeles National Forest were evacuated Tuesday after a brush fire broke out near the Morris Dam north of Azusa in late afternoon. About 18 Boy Scouts were airlifted out of the area Tuesday night by a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helicopter, authorities told the Times.

I live in the San Joaquin valley, Tulare County specifically, and our air quality has been unhealthy for a while because of the coastal fires. The last few days have been better since they have contained those fires, but I suspect with the help of northern winds, we’ll see the air degrade again. It’s not fun living in these basin “bowls”.
It’s bad, ya’know
My first thought was, the Boy Scouts camp is up there.
I live downtown and the minute I stepped outside this morning it REEKED of fire. Yes air bad today.
Oooh, I could see downtown when I stepped out awhile ago and it looks bad over that way. It’s verrry smoky in WLA and at times the wind is strong.
I wonder how many newly purchased Chinese homes are threatened by these fires? Now THAT would make for an interesting payout.
Bad air and temperatures in the mid-90’s all over L.A. I have the day off and am staying indoors, sitting by the air conditioner.

Smell of smoke in the air today.
Prayers for all affected by these fires - especially the brave firefighters.
Praying to your deity Satan I see.
No, not me. I don’t work in the industry.
Trolls who do not understand or respect this is an actual, serious situation go elsewhere with your ill will.
Most of the Chinese and other asians have been purchasing from Alhambra east through Diamond Bar alonmg the 60. I’m sure they’re grateful for your good wishes.
Thank you for your kindness and good-heartedness which you extend without fail in these situations. The wind is very strong and the event on cue for the season. God bless our firefighters. Amen.
I don’t see the relevance of your post.
You don’t know geography either.
