Husband’s family is from Mass...did you know that? Husband tells me there a lot of fine hard working people in Mass. I tell him, NO, the rest of the country sees Kerry and Kennedy and THAT’s Mass to them. His family, to be fair, is from Indiana, moved to Mass when husband was 13.
Anyway, husband’s brother lived almost his entire life in Mass but he’s a solid conservative, God love him. His wife is a Mass native.
They were down for a visit and I asked them, both in early 40’s, about Ted Kennedy, how could Mass keep voting for a Senator who did such an awful thing.
They both shook their head ruefully. I could tell that they knew very little about the story. At that time, last summer as I recall, I was shocked. How on earth could they NOT know this?
I guess they knew that there was something dark in Kennedy’s past, something about a young woman, a car wreck, a weird sounding place. Like my daughter told me, she knew about it vaguely but she figured if the guy became a Senator and everything it couldn’t have been THAT big a deal. She was shocked when she found out the whole story.
Anyhoo....the libs put all their chips on the wrong horse, they do it all the time. I really believe they’re going to have one hell of a time putting lipstick on this pig and trying to convince us it’s not a pig.

Then I talked to a couple from western Mass. and they said
they were from a very conservative area near the Hudson River.
They also made claims of patronizing the oldsters on and around
election day. Don't know for sure, but it sounds rather Kennedyish to me.
