Those quotes don't sound very typical for Netanyahu, but he may just be mouthing nice platitudes for the the leftist Euros' consumption.
Everyone, especially Netanyahu, knows that Paestinian "recognition" of Israel means a complete change in the Pali state of mind; no more war and no more terrorism against Israel. It's merely a hypothetical at this point.

Negotiations, land for peace, has been Israeli policy for decades. Note it's not Israel refusing to sit down and talk. If Bibi makes reasonable demands, well, that's what negotiations are about. And his emphasis on economic development is on target. I'm not confident it will work in the face of palestinian incitement, but it's the only rational policy. Or a unilateral separation, establish borders, withdraw from the places you don't want, like Gaza, then defend them.
