Sarah's statement was classy and short.

I would like to extend our sympathies to the Kennedy family as we hear word about the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy. He believed in our country and fought passionately for his convictions. -Sarah Palin and family

So has there been a WH statement, or is that above their pay grade?

Palin’s statement shows far more class that I would have done.

I’d, if restrained, would have said nothing.

Otherwise, I’d merely say that he most likely will not need winter clothing where he is now.

Whatever you think of him, the story of the three bothers really is amazing. One becomes President and is shot. The other was on his way to becoming President when he was shot. And Ted had his own demons. Amazing what the three of them went through and I can’t imagine what is must have been like to see your two brothers shot and killed like that, not to mention what happened to Jr in 99. A King Lear-like tale.

Also, I don’t know about the Sarah Palin and family. It sounds kind of weird, like she’s distancing herself from them or something. I would have gone with “Todd and I” or “On behalf of the Palin family” or something like that. An interesting construction. Not a big deal in the big scheme of things though.
