Two GIs deployed to Iraq have insisted that Obama isn't a legal citizen while another Soldier, Maj. Stefan Cook, has been waging a court fight – first in Georgia, then Florida – to force the president to produce a birth certificate that will satisfy his objections.

The cases are the first known instances of some troops joining what has become known as the "birther" movement, referring to Americans who doubt whether Obama is technically qualified to be president based on the absence of a "long form" birth certificate that documents where he was born.

Cook initially volunteered for deployment, but later refused the orders on grounds that Obama cannot deploy him because he is not legally president.

I just sent Gunny a message advising him that THIS VIET NAM MARINE VET has serious doubts about OBAMA’s citizenship.

And, that we are not all wackos.

Gunny, all 0bama has to due is release his COLB for all to see. Not a difficult thing to do, right? You had to do it to get into the Marines, and I had to do it to get into the Army.

Well, Sargeant Ermey, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Y'see, anyone who has such an unabashede love for firearms can't (in my estimation) be all bad. Your service to the United States of America and the Constitution thereof in noted, and commendable.

Your acting career has placed an image of the USMC in many young heads, and inspired many fine young men to step up and make the grade.

I have been following this issue for some time, and I think your opinion as stated is ambiguous.

That might be a good thing.

I will respectfully request you do some research into the meaning of Natural Born Citizen, and further research into how a certain occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue does not apparently measure up to that requirement.

Yes, there are many wild-eyed theories out there, but the understanding of the seminal issue can be found, namely that his mom was not old enough to confer Natural Born Citizenship status on him in the US, nor had she been resident in the US the requisite amount of time according to the law of the day to do so.

The only way he can be a Natural Born Citizen is to have been the son of someone other than the fellow who was married to his mother, if you catch my drift.

If so, and it is documented on his birth certificate, well, no harm there. Every family has its occasional woods colt, teepee creeper, whatever, sooner or later. At least those in the chain of command would know the orders he issues would be legitimate and they would not be subject to being tried for anything from War Crimes to being hanged as common criminals for carrying out the orders of a Commander in Chief who was not legitimate (Constitutionally speaking, that is).

As one who has served, you should be well aware of the quandry this places good men in, men who are sufficiently dedicated to their Country to place their lives on the line.

In return, it isn't too damned much to ask that someone produce the pieces of paper which indicate that he is, in fact a legitimate Commander in Chief, Constitutionally qualified for the office. Anything less is harmful to morale, the troops in the field, and yes, your beloved Corps.

Mr. Hartman was a marine and a drill instructor. However, he was NEVER an actual Gunnery Sergeant. It is an “honorary” title.

Were I Major Cook and this “citizen” should confront me. I would tell Mr. Hartman to kiss my Oak Leaf Clusters.

Major Cook is no coward. He is completely willing to deploy. He just questions the validity of the person occupying the office of POTUS. A very brave thing to do publically for a commissioned officer.

One can disagree with the tactic, but they shouldn’t disparge MAJ Cook’s character. He acted not out of evasion of duty but concern for country.

Well he may be wrong on this issue, but I know he does not like Obama. I don't believe Obama was born in the US, but good luck trying to prove it. Now that Obama is president what is going to stop him from printing up a fake long form birth certificate? This is the same government that prints up money out of thin air. What makes you think they would not do this?

We may be able to prove it as a bogus, but then Obama/cohorts in the media/press will scream that we are nuts and it will never get resolved. Like I said I am sure he is not a US citizen, but it will never be validated.

Look at how the media worships this guy. They would rather shut down then objective. I don't like it, and it ticks me off. I hate to say it, but this is one battle we cannot win. Like I said they will produce a fake document (just like the short form) and then say, “We have showed you the proof, blah, blah, blah”.

Believe me I hate it.

"I haven't heard about those guys," Ermey told Military.com during an Aug. 21 interview. "If I do run across them though, trust me, I'll square them away."

Sounds like the guy's operating on the basis of incomplete information. We all know how good that is for a successful mission.

Please tell the Gunny that if he has the Certified copy of the original birth certificate, to post it for all to see. Then I will believe that 0bama meets the eligibility requirements under the Constitution.

If you don't have the COLB with an embossed seal, then with all due respect Gunny, shut your pie hole.
