Two GIs deployed to Iraq have insisted that Obama isn't a legal citizen while another Soldier, Maj. Stefan Cook, has been waging a court fight – first in Georgia, then Florida – to force the president to produce a birth certificate that will satisfy his objections.

The cases are the first known instances of some troops joining what has become known as the "birther" movement, referring to Americans who doubt whether Obama is technically qualified to be president based on the absence of a "long form" birth certificate that documents where he was born.

Cook initially volunteered for deployment, but later refused the orders on grounds that Obama cannot deploy him because he is not legally president.

Dunno 'bout AZ, but here in Florida, Obama's ACORN has been vacuuming the streets of all the riff-raff and depositing them at poll locations for years:

"In 2006, people were already bringing complaints against ACORN for violating campaign laws. In Florida, Manuel Iglesias accused ACORN of engaging in "A Coordinated Campaign With The Express Purpose of Defeating Repubican Candidates for Federal Office and Supporting Democrat Candidate for Federal Office." Legally, ACORN is not allowed to participate in partisan campaign activity, but a campaign plan written by an ACORN employee entitled "Floridians for All" is certainly partisan. The plan's claimed initiative was to "defeat George W. Bush and other Republicans by increasing Democrat turnout in a close election...and...catalyze the construction of permanent progressive political infrastructure that will help redirect Florida politics in a more progressive, Democratic direction." The plan continues along this vein, stating that ACORN's aim is to "increase voter turnout of working class, mainly Democrat voters without increasing opposition turnout." With this evidence, one would think that the FEC had more than enough information to want to investigate. Instead, the FEC dismissed the case "

Records, we don't need no stinking records

has all but placed the Vietnam veteran in the pantheon of Marine heroes alongside "Chesty" Puller, Smedley Butler and Dan Daly,...

I strongly suspect that the guy who wrote this article is not a Marine.

I like the Gunny and have seen some of his shows and the movie. However, no Marine is gonna put him in the same class as Chesty.

Perhaps Ermey should review the oath he took:

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Is it bearing true faith and allegiance to the Constitution to follow the orders of a person who may not meet the Constitutional requirements to be President? I think not.

Something tells me that Ermey would have smacked this Bryant Jordan person if he knew his history. He seems to have a special hostility for Marines.

Gunny,
You’ve been rubbing elbows with the Hollywood types too long. It is affecting your thinking.

This so-called “article” doesn’t describe what Ermey would square them away over. It is too vague.

My ‘guess’ and it is only that is that Ermey was specifically responding to the idea that a soldier may not follow orders from a commander-in-chief the soldier believes was not eligible to be President. If that is what Ermey believes then I agree with him. Soldiers should follow orders.

If on the other hand Ermey is saying he would take Birthers to task for simply believing that Obama is ineligible to be President then Ermey is full of crap.

R. Lee Ermey is a joke and should not be compared to a real Marine. Elections have consequences and given where things appear to be headed in this country where future administrations to satisfy the savage hatred of their constituents seek ways to prosecute those with whom they disagreed, as a soldier I would want to make darn sure my orders were legal orders from a legally constituted Commander in Chief. History shows that under new regimes and circumstances one merely citing they following direct orders does not always cut the mustard.

"I haven't heard about those guys,"

Which means he likely doesn't know much about the situation either. Probably assumes that their is absolutely no question that The Messaih was born in Hawaii, and thinks, without looking into it, that "natural born citizen" is the same as "native born" or even "citizen at birth". But different words mean differnt things. Sometimes only shades of meaning, but still different.

just launched a new show on the network in July. “Lock ‘N Load with R. Lee Ermey
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The guy is working for Hollywood????

I would say that he has a conflict of interest here.

And....The author of the article is a typical idiot or deliberately obfuscating the issue.

Cook has repeatedly stated that he is **willing** to serve. He asked for clarification regarding the validity of the orders. The night before the judge was to hear the case the Department of Defense rescinded his orders to deploy. Apparently that is almost an unheard of event.
