Reasonable questions for unreasonable times
Monday, August 24, 2009 - 18:05 ET
Am I hateful if I ask:
- Our unfunded liability for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid is close to $100 trillion.
Is there any way to pay for these programs without bankrupting America?
- We are in so much debt,
why spend more borrowed money on cap-and-trade and healthcare programs
before we stop the flow of red-ink?
- The stimulus package funneled billions of dollars to ACORN.
How does giving billions of dollars to ACORN
stimulate the economy?
- If it was so important for congress to pass the stimulus bill
before they even had time to read it
why has only a fraction of the stimulus money been spent 6 months later?
- Bush said he had to abandon free market principles in order to save them,
how exactly does that work?
- Why wont member of Congress read the bills
before they vote on them?
- Why are citizens mocked and laughed at
when they ask their congressman to read the bills before they vote on them?
- Was the cash-for-clunkers program meant to save the earth or the economy?
Did it accomplish either?
- How did Van Jones, a self-proclaimed communist
become a special advisor to the president?
- Did President Obama know of Van Jones radical political beliefs
when he named him special advisor?
- The Apollo Alliance claimed credit for writing the stimulus bill
why was this group allowed to write any portion of this bill?
- If politicians arent writing the bills
and arent reading the bills,
do they have any idea what these 1000 page plus bills actually impose on the American people?
- If the public option health care plan is so good
why wont politicians agree to have that as their plan?
- If town hall meetings are intended for the politicians to learn whats on our mind
why do they spend so much time talking
instead of listening?
- Politicians are refusing to attend town hall meetings
complaining, without evidence, that they are scripted.
Does that mean we shouldnt come out and vote for you since
every campaign stop, baby kiss and speech you give
is scripted?
- Why would you want to overwhelm the system?
- Is using the economic crises to rush legislation through congress
what Rahm Emanuel meant when he talked about not letting a crises go to waste?
- What are the czars paid?
What is the budget for their staffs/offices?

Since every dollar paid by any of them goes to an American, it is impossible for them to bankrupt us. My left pocket and my right pocket cannot bankrupt both by moving bills from one to the other. Middle class entitlements are *transfers*, not net sunk costs. You can't be serious. Your analogy has so many flaws. Since most of what they buy with the money given out of the right pocket goes to overseas companies there is one loss. But, your biggest flaw is the fact that since the govt. is involved in the transfer it's not an even exchange. There is always a "watering down" of the value once govt. touches a dollar. Also, you somehow choose to miss the most obvious reason this "transfer" is going to sink us: In ten years there won't be enough people paying in to the right pocket to support the amount of money needed to take out of the left pocket.
Who cares? What matters is whether they are qualified and do their jobs well. If their policies stink, would you be happy to put up with crap policies that don't work because those implementing them took only a dollar a year? If their policies are brilliant and help millions of people and save hundreds of billions of dollars, are you going to pout and cry about it if they earn a living doing it?
No. It's about Constitutionality and accountability. Apparently you don't seem to care about that.

There is always a "watering down" of the value once govt. touches a dollar. The GAO reported a few years back that one third of every dollar taken in the form of taxes is wasted or stolen. This is before the cost of the massive bureaucracy. Just one of the many reasons why Obamalamadingdong's so-called "health care reform" will never, ever "save" us one red cent. 'Course, Obamalamadingdong's "plan" isn't intended to "save" anything.....

The few programs of this series I've seen have been a bit staggering for me.
Some of Beck's earlier programs start out hard hitting, but then he loses me with his editorial. Not with these shows. These just piss me off and scare the beejeezus out of me all at the same time.
It IS happening, right here, right now, to US, We, the People! They must be stopped and what they have done undone.

I appreciate all Mr. Beck does in asking these very important questions, he is a true patriot. However, when I called into your radio show, Mr. Beck and asked you if you felt that Mr. Obama had ever been vetted by anyone with regard to Constituional eligibility, you hung up on me and told your listeners that, if you heard this birth certificate issue mentioned again your head would explode. Why is this not a REASONABLE QUESTION?

The GAO reported a few years back that one third of every dollar taken in the form of taxes is wasted or stolen.I am sure the percentage is much higher now. Govt. can't create anything. It can only suck from the economy. I read a thread yesterday where the average govt. employee makes twice what the average is in the private sector.

Since every dollar paid by any of them goes to an American, it is impossible for them to bankrupt us. My left pocket and my right pocket cannot bankrupt both by moving bills from one to the other. Middle class entitlements are *transfers*, not net sunk costs. We can't go bankrupt paying SS benefits to recipients who are using that money to buy foreign made goods, or medical expenses that end up going to foreign manufacturers? The money goes from one pocket to another, but it doesn't stay there.
Iceland went bankrupt "paying themselves", and we can too if the taxes necessary to fund the system cripple our ability to invest in our own infrastructure and industries.

Govt. can't create anything. It can only suck from the economy. Yep. The evidence is all around, too. Everywhere you look gubmint is hopelessly broke. Everything they touch they break. No matter where you look you see the same thing, gubmint failure on every level. This fact, in and of itself, is the single best clue to the scope of Obamalamadingdong's plans. Quite clearly, he intends to sink this nation to a point of desperation and no return, then use the created "crisis" to "transform America". I am very, very surprised that, given their own egos, so many in Congress are so willingly going along with the expansion of the Executive Branch. I mean really, three dozen "Czars" who are accountable to no one? I sure hope people wake up......soon!
