Thanks for the ping Dan.
I will try to attend the one in Granite Bay...To defend him if nothing else!
July 28, 2009, House Chamber, Washington, D.C.
Mr. Speaker: In order to support the Democrats' healthcare plan, we are asked to accept three arguments that are fundamentally absurd:
First, that the same government that pioneered $400 hammers and $600 toilet seats is somehow going to control healthcare costs;
Second, that the same government that runs FEMA is going to make our health care system more efficient and responsive;
Third, that the same government that runs the IRS is going to make our healthcare more compassionate and understanding.
Frankly, I doubt it.
Instead of putting government in charge of our health care decisions, let's put patients back in charge. We can do that by using tax credits to bring within the reach of every family a basic health plan that they can choose, that they can own, and that they can change if it fails to meet their needs.
That's what Republicans are proposing. And it's a much better way.
and to think that “if” RINOld had kept his nose out of the 2003 recall,
McC would have been our governor today...
Thanks for the ping!
Don’t blame the Austrian. Without Pete Wilson, Schwarzenegger would simply have been a high profile train wreck in the summer of 2003. Without Wilson, there would have been no Bustamante. Without Bustamante, their would have been little chance to displace Davis. With Davis, their would have been no massive borrowing and McClintock’s 9% solution would have fallen on fertile ground.
I get all of Tom's mailings (especially the funds solicitation letters). We will continue to support him as one of the few people not tainted by our corrupt Washington political class.
Thanks for the ping.
Anyone know why we don’t see more of Tom on TV, leading the charge against Obama socialism? Is it because he’s a freshman House member and thus expected to “keep his place”?
Wow. I've only been gone from GB for about 5 years...has it changed so much that Tom would need defending?
I think I’d heard that Tom got a new/higher appointment in one of the committees. Not sure but if true, maybe we’ll be hearing more from him! Yea!
Bump for Tom...
Against the SEIU thugs?
You betcha!
Well as far as MSM news, that's up to the producers and they don't know him nationally yet. But on the floor of The House he speaks quite often -- far exceeding what is typical for a freshman House member. If you can't watch CSPAN when the house is in session then go to his web page, all of his floor speeches are there. His staff usually get the stream up within a half a day or sooner.

Bravo Sierra
OK...thanks for both replies!
He's the ranking member now on the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water and Power. 'Ranking Member' is essentially the lead member of the minority party on that committee. If Republicans were to take control he would become Chairman of the committee.
No my friend, Pete Wilson, not BS, was the primary contributor to to California's current, economic morass.
Wilson was dishonest to the core but he was a dishonest moderate. He and the legislature would have raised taxes to support California's then small deficit but he would have never permitted the billions in indebtedness promoted and accrued by Wilson's gang. Even a moderate Democrat knows instinctively that you don't borrow your child's life preserver if the ship might go down.
Which we will in 2010! (power of prayer and positive thinking!)
This seems like a pretty fast rise but I'm no expert. Go Tom!
