There is a direct correlation between the increased length of FReepathons and the huge purges that have occurred over the past two years. The lack of donations is completely self-inflicted. We used to discuss issues, debate, disagree, and learn from one another. Now we just shout "troll!" at anyone we disagree with.

FR is still the best clearing house for gathering the news, but our threads used to be the real source of our strength. Most of us are too afraid of being banned to post anything controversial or interesting.

I agree some with your post 64, but I also think the bad economy has a lot to do with it.

Also, the lack of civility on the threads has turned people off too.

The threads are often look like WWE smackdown where torturing your opposition is more important than making a point.

Personally, I like torturing Eternal Vigilance for his support of Alan Keyes, not that Keyes is a bad guy, it is just after Keyes getting slam dunked in IL, it is hard for me to understand why he is anything more than a washed up has been.
