I agree wholeheartedly. However, many of those who take the Genesis account of creation as literally true state unequivocally that one cannot be a Christian without sharing that belief. I am sure, though, that you would disagree with them.No, actually that's not the definition of Christianity (today) either.

I didn’t say that it was the definition of Christianity. On the other hand, can one be a Christian and not believe the literal accounts in Genesis? For example, can a Catholic who has faithfully followed Catholic doctrine for his or her entire life be a Christian if he or she believes the theory of evolution?
