Wisconsin has lost tens of thousands of jobs due to democrat and union control. It's not only happening in Michigan, it's happening everywhere in a democrat controlled environment, like California, Massachusetts , New Jersey, etc. Governor Jim Doyle is responsilbe for the downfall of Wisconsin's economy.

Idiot unions. They’d rather lose their jobs than suck it up and work like normal people.

This Mercury Marine topic has been discussed at length by Mark Belling on Milwaukee’s WISN 1130AM radio. Mark has chronicled the loss of jobs in Wisconsin due to our leftist government’s anti-business agenda, and the union idiots who bleed their employers until the jobs are dead.

Other states are taking our jobs, and that is to their credit, as those states know how to court businesses and they actually want to employ their state’s residents. But in Wisconsin, they throw the jobs away. Let them eat cheese!
Oh, except the way it’s going it will be cheese imported from California or Vermont.

Wisconsin is tax hell. Try owning even a modest home here. The property taxes are outrageous. The liberals insufferable.

A repub governor in 2010 would be a nice relief. We have a good prospect in Scott Walker, and our current poopyhead gov.Doyle has announced he’ll not run again. He passed a horrid tax laden budget recently and is running for the hills, too cowardly to face what he’s done. Egghead. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Interestingly, A FReeper posted just recently that he would be moving his marine business out of Wisconsin to Oklahoma. I guess he wasn’t kidding.

Remind me to NOT buy a Mercury Marine engine. I suspect they will have many problems on the assembly line in the near future.

I applaud this vote. It will mean less union dues funding the Democrat party.

Just come to Pueblo Colorado. This stupid town should be the international monument to union stupidity. We had the largest steel mill west of the Mississippi, Rockwool Insulation, and Aplha Beta Meat Packing, All three of these major employers were destroyed by unions. The steel mill collapsed, Rockwool collapsed and Alpha Beta said the union needed to renegotiate and of course the union said no, They closed up shop and left the next day. Pueblo has never recovered and still clings to the stupid unions.

Union workers at Mercury Marine put their jobs at risk Sunday when they rejected a package of wage and benefit concessions the boat engine maker said it needed or it would move their work to a nonunion plant in Oklahoma.

DO IT Mercury!

Oklahoma will work with you and with reasonable dictate. : - D

The liberals just don't get it....

These Unions keep hoping the Democrats will save them, with moves like “Card Check” etc. It has not happened.

Stupid union. The same thing happened in Carlisle Pennsylvania a few years ago. The union wanted a bigger pay raise and rejected management’s offer. The company closed up shop and left. I guess the union thought they were bluffing. A lot of angry workers who listened to there union bosses really got the shaft.

I wonder why people would prefer to be unemployed rather than make some concessions.

Union leaders did not immediately release Sunday's tally but said the vote was "overwhelming" to reject what the company called its final offer.

I do wonder, however, who counted the votes.

Was it really "overwhelming"? I know that back in my union days (closed shop), a good 30% of the membership was primarily anti-union but had to join to be employed.

The path is pretty clear.

You can lay down and die like GM and Chrysler, or follow the Caterpillar route and play to win.
