Arthur Frommer the supposed travel expert said he would travel boycott Arizona because a man should up at a political rally in AZ with an open carry gun. Well maybe Frommer needs to answer a question from me.
So why did Blender send me magazines when I never contacted them etc. To boost their circulation and to LIE to advertisers - a bit like CNN lying to their advertisers to overstate the size of their tiny audience. Although this is not unheard of it is fraud. Some publishers have gotten in big trouble because there is an audit company that verifies circulation.
Well today I got my mail and I keep getting Budget Travel magazine and at the top the full title is Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel. I have been getting it for at least 10 months. I never ordered it, never subscribed to any travel mag and have cancelled the majority of mags and cancelled the pro-illegal alien & anti-birther Wall Street Journal. I do not travel extensively and never filled out a form for free magazines.
I think my Second Amnedment hating and gun banning pal Arthur Frommer may be, in my opinion, committing fraud by sending me magazines I never ordered to boost his circulation numbers for advertisers.
Who?
What a stupid thing to say/do for a businessman.
That’s the end of any Travel Guides.
Bye bye Artie
Travel guru says gun laws enough to avoid Arizona
Can’t you write REFUSED on it and send it back?
BTTT
Check all your credit and bankcard statements to make sure you aren’t being billed for these mags. A lot of thrid party subsciption services will Hoover up any cc numbers from people who once ordered a magazine, and subscribe them to other mags. A lot of people just don’t check, and never notice an $8 charge once or twice a year.
If you’re getting that magazine and you didn’t order it.. you may want to check your credit card for the last year or so.
Dunno about AZ, although Frommer is WRONG... I remember seeing in Colorado... Businessmen in their 3 piece suits, with Cowboy hat, Boots, with MATCHING Briefcase and HOLSTER. Yo ARTIE, baby... you gonna boycott your buddies at VAIL or ASPEN??
HYPOCRIT, thy name is LIBERAL.
LOL! Yes she did. I had received 2 and was really getting fed up cause the postman thinks it great until Milla shows up. Another dog s**t liberal magazine selling cigarettes, cologne and other garbage to 20 year olds.
ROTFLMAO
According to Wiki his first book was while he was still in the army: “The G.I’s Guide to Traveling in Europe”, 1955.
The Arizona remarks he posted on his blog: www.frommers.com/blog/. The entry in question is: http://www.frommers.com/blog/?plckController=Blog&plckScript=blogScript&plckElementId=blogDest&plckBlogPage=BlogViewPost&plckPostId=Blog%3a3ec3ac40-db8a-4d10-a884-acf9ccad0879Post%3acad21037-04b6-415b-b41b-4838402e1e4e
I looked it over and technically, he is just registering his personal outrage and takes care NOT to call for a mass boycott. He just says he isn’t going there anytime soon. He also graciously requests the opinions of his readers.
Responses are all over the map but I would say about 70% are of the “stick to travel and stay out of politics, Mr. Frommer” variety.
We’ve seen this happen before with blogging authors and reporters; on their blogs they just can’t hold back their personal opinions, so they let fly with stuff that dents their reputations.
Agreed. Sadly, the travel guides/phrasebooks I like best are VERY liberal Lonely Planet’s. Phrasebooks I am kind of stuck with purchasing (they are helpful once in a long while), but I’ve taken to checking out guidebooks from the library instead. As I have right now for Alsace-Lorraine, next month.
All I can say is, it’s been an education. All these years I thought “Arthur Frommer” was like “J. Peterman”, a brand name rather than an actual person.
Didn’t he shoot Governor Wallace ?
If liberal tourists stay out of AZ, I may spend more time there.
Sounds like it is time to contact the Audit Bureau of Circulations:
They are a non-profit created by the publishing industry to verify that publishers are not fudging their circulations to fool advertisers. If you write them about unsolicited magazines, and that they have ignored your demands that they stop sending them, ABC will investigate them.
Well, now, remember that controversial MTV video in the early 90’s where the rappers were threatening to go down to AZ to shoot up the place because they didn’t want MLK day to be a gummint’ holiday.
Really!!! Why do lefties always think people live their lives based on what they have to say...talk about your elitist example of dilusional self importance.
