We already knew this, thanks to Rep. Zoe Lofgren and Barack Obama himself, but its nice to get confirmation from those fine folks at Factcheck.org an Annenberg project, no less. After Obama tried to paint it as a lie, the National Right to Life Committee insisted that ObamaCare would use taxpayer money to fund abortions. It turns out that they were right:
The truth is that bills now before Congress dont require federal money to be used for supporting abortion coverage. So the president is right to that limited extent. But its equally true that House and Senate legislation would allow a new public insurance plan to cover abortions, despite language added to the House bill that technically forbids using public funds to pay for them.
Obama has said in the past that reproductive services would be covered by his public plan, so its likely that any new federal insurance plan would cover abortion unless Congress expressly prohibits that. Low- and moderate-income persons who would choose the public plan would qualify for federal subsidies to purchase it. Private plans that cover abortion also could be purchased with the help of federal subsidies. Therefore, we judge that the president goes too far when he calls the statements that government would be funding abortions fabrications.

Of course. We knew that. This “health bill” is nothing more than a way to convert 17% of the US economy to marxist in a short time. It has nothing to do with health care.
Zero and his entire Admin are pathological liars. And Big Media doesn’t hold them accountable. That’s the way it is in America today. Sad state of affairs.
Even if it isn’t in the bill, once the gov’t starts running the health business, sooner or later this will happen.
I suspect it is essential for many of them to continue on their course, and to remain outspoken and fervent in their support, and to surround themselves with others with the same desperation, because the magnitude of the guilt they would feel should they change their minds is too overwhelming to deal with.
Kind of like the way they get so worked up about OTHER people believing in God, BTW.
Really, just how important is it to have access to abortion? There's plenty of methods of birth control available. How can this be your defining issue? Obviously, I understand why the pro-life folks could make it their litmus test voting issue, but the pro-choicers? There's so many other liberties being trounced on, and this is the (perceived) one you care about? Just doesn't make sense.
ifthey REALLY wanted health care all they had to do was set up free clinics for people who didnt have health care.
they dont have to pass legislation on people, just make free clinics for people to go to
The list, ping
