I have seen the post before and have referred to it myself, but I think the liberator wasn’t actually air dropped as profligately as stated/inferred in the article (or at least not in Germany), but only in certain areas of Europe (behind German troop lines therein).
someone else gave me more background info on it, so if I find the reference, I’ll post it to you.
