Cash for Clunkers has failed miserably. Hundreds of millions of dollars owed to dealers on program go unpaid. Developing.
And these clowns demand to run your healthcare.
Sorry for the dealers, but they should have known not to trust the gov to create and run an efficient program.
FWIW, we had the car in for an oil chg this morning. The dealer had already ended its participation in the program. I got the impression they weren't happy campers.
Some of the local dealers are still running ads for it.
I thought it was Monday at 8pm like others have said? What happened?
obama gives, obama takes away.
0bama fails again
FWIW, news wires still going with 8 pm Monday.
So, the Soros cash flow to Obama ends Friday?
The FAIL has just started!
All they did was to move up the purchases of those that
need/wanted to purchase a new car. Now those consumers
are satisfied. Sales will take at least a year to recover.
Depending on how many cars they sold under this program, they - like many others - could be facing some cash-flow problems. It will be interested how big this problem really is, and what kind of protracted "fix" it will take.
The credit markets still aren't anywhere close to business as usual, and if these dealers need to go to that well to finance some short term debt to cover monthly operating expenses, it could mean some problems for them.
I looked at FoxNews.com and they still have it ending on Monday. No breaking news either. Is this a local fox station? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/20/cash-clunkers-program-end-monday-night/?test=latestnews
....the Clunker snafu is great!....it just draws more negative attention to the concept of government run health care....the more chaos the better.
Yep,dealing with the government is like dancing with the devil. They got what they deserved for being greedy.
Obama is already a lame duck before the end of his first year in office.
Please use the correct name. It’s not Cash-for-Clunkers. It is:
Your-Neighbors’-Money used to Buy-You-a-New-Car and to Destroy-a-Perfectly-Good-Car to Keep-It-Out-of-the-Free-Market and away from Some-Poor-Person-Who-Needs-Transportation while demonstrating The-Government-Cannot-Successfully-Administer-Even-A-Simple-Process-Like-This and actually Hurt-The-Car-Companies-It-Ostensibly-Wants-To-Help
There.
me too, although I’m sure there is some deception and corruption on the dealers’ end as well. The gov gave them an incentive to lie, and I’m sure some took advantage. In any event, thank goodness this is over—but at what ultimate cost?
And on a related note, we're still trying to find out from our car dealer, we got a new car a few weeks before the program started, whether or not any governmental agencies, domestic and/or foreign, had any access to the personal and financial info we gave to the dealer. The dealer hasn't been co-operating, so we talk to a lawyer this week. Sigh.
CRAP!!! I just bought 10 junkers at $100 a piece the I was going to turn in for the $4500 to start my own backyard dealership right here by my Obama Victory Garden!
