Maybe if the "big stars" would keep their political ignorance to themselves instead of thinking that their opinions matter more than the rest of ours, they wouldn'be be having this problem.

I guess you and I just don’t get it! We’re supposed to be content with our status as the ‘little people’. You know, the unsophisticated, culturally ignorant trailer trash who bow to those above us.

Well said.
just another once-successful institution that libs are in the process of ruining
Yep and the price of a movie ticket is getting to be outrageous. I’ll wait till I can rent it for a buck at the Redbox.
But there are other good reasons in the article that also help explain the decline. "Taking of Pelham 1,2,3" was a remake and was boring. It had no females, was set almost entirely in a subway tunnel (dark, difficult to see), and the plot was a little shaky. Both Denzel and Travolta were overweight (yes, the plot called for that, but nevertheless, it's hardly a way to fire up the imagination of "romantic" heroes and villains).
I always thought Julia Roberts' drawing power was suspect; Eddie Murphy, despite "Dreamgirls," hasn't had a real hit in years; and if you look at the three movies that have been successful this summer, they are all teen-oriented.
Yes, exactly. Plus, I’m completely reluctant to enjoy what has become the movie theatre experience - large people speed-munching junk food & crinkling wrappers throughout the film; talking throughout the film; and especially, answering cell phones!! That’s happened the last 3-4 times (and I’ve gone like once or twice a year) and I really can’t see myself paying for that experience.
