PPP: Huck does best against Obama [2012]
gop12 ^ | 08/20/09

Posted on 08/20/2009 6:53:09 PM PDT by freespirited

For the 5th straight month, Public Policy Polling finds Mike Huckabee the strongest 2012 contender against Barack Obama (click here for poll).

1. Barack Obama 47% Mike Huckabee 44%

2. Barack Obama 47% Mitt Romney 40%

3. Barack Obama 49% Newt Gingrich 41%

4. Barack Obama 52% Sarah Palin 38%

Favorability ratings:

a. Obama 52%/42%

b. Huckabee 45%/28%

c. Gingrich 33%/42%

d. Palin 40%/49%

e. Romney 37%/34%

Notes: Huckabee receives positive favorability ratings in every income group, while Palin receives negative ratings in every income group, except those making less than 25K/year.

Interestingly, that same income group gives Romney a -3% rating, so you can see a bit of the socio-economic divide between the two candidates' supporters.

In a 2012 matchup, Obama beats each GOP candidate in every income group, except Mitt Romney in the 100k+ group.

Favorability ratings among the age groups are pretty fascinating. Newt, Palin, and Romney are all most popular among the +65 set, which isn't great news for the GOP.

But Mike Huckabee bucks the trend and has positive favorables among every age group, with his strongest support (at +26%) coming from 18-29 year-olds.

“He is a clown that will say anything to get elected.”

You have that right and bad mouth anyone who he thinks is in his way.

The opposite is true. This poll represents what the liberal pollster wants people to believe.

Great. Another GOP weasel takes the lead.

I'll vote GOP, but I won't vote for weasels.

Palin's the best of this particular crop.

No more RINOS. The Republican party is probably behind this.

all these rinos at hot air and other blogs and radio shows pushed Tom Ridge when spector was ahead. Things will change here too and the same rinos will be left behind.

In case you were wondering, here’s an entry in the Huckabee border enforcement record:

Huckabee blasts immigrant bill as ‘race-baiting’

BY DAVID HAMMER ASSOCIATED PRESS

Posted on Friday, January 28, 2005

Gov. Mike Huckabee said Thursday that a bill to deny state government benefits and voting rights to illegal immigrants is “inflammatory... race-baiting and demagoguery.”He challenged the Christian values of its main sponsor.

The governor said the bill “inflames those who are racist and bigots and makes them think there’s a real problem. But there’s not.”

Sens. Jim Holt of Springdale and Denny Altes of Fort Smith, whose Northwest Arkansas region includes the state’s fastest growing Hispanic population, filed the measure, Senate Bill 206.

Huckabee, a Baptist minister and a Republican like Holt and Altes, said Arkansans should be welcoming hardworking immigrants of all races.

Slandering conservatives (me included) as bigoted race-baiters for attempting to stop the invasion of our country is unconsienable for someone claiming to be a conservative.

Did he really believe someone was wrong for attempting to deny voting rights to illegal aliens, or was he betraying his own principles in order to score political points?

These people he was publicly attacking were Republicans, members of his own party. He was attacking them because they were, in the spirit of the rule of law, attempting to pass a conservative border enforcement measure into law.

I would expect such garbage from Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid or the Chief Marxist, but not from a Republican presidential candidate (except perhaps McCain).

I will never again vote for another candidate who doesn’t have a clear position and a clean track record on illegal immigration issues. NEVER!

Do you know for a fact that gop12.com is owned by the Republican party?

I didn’t say they owned it. Picking our candidate is old news w/them. W/their ‘bipartisan’ fetish - some lib could own it. Whatever it takes - one drop of propaganda a day is all it takes. Some already believe this crap piece.

Picking our candidate is old news w/them.

No it isn't.

Big Liberal Media pushes the candidates that they want and we the voters vote for the nominee.

The RNC had nothing to do with us getting McCain.

Where did he get his money to run? What you are saying is the RNC is a doormat, worthless, has no voice, etc. Who was the RNC's choice?

There is just no way on God's green earth this Conservative Christian will ever vote for that shyster, Hucksterbee.

If the GOP's dumb enough to nominate him, then they've surrendered the White House for another 4 years IMO.

Who was the RNC's choice?

The RNC doesn't choose the candidates.

Again: Big Liberal Media pushes the Republican candidate that they want and we the voters vote for the nominee in the primary.

And back to the subject of this thread, who ever the heck owns gop12.com (and it could be anybody), is pushing Huckabee and trashing Sarah.
