And BTW...the way Pravda's going Scot is likely to be needing some employment counseling in the not-too-distant future.

They're just waiting for their bailout money down on Morrisey Blvd.

Actually, currently Mass. law calls for a special election now within 5 months of vacancy. Kennedy wants to go back to the Governor appointing someone again.

How right you are on this, “Actually, currently Mass. law calls for a special election now within 5 months of vacancy. Kennedy wants to go back to the Governor appointing someone again.

From the newspaper article:
Just a few years ago, state law gave the governor the ability to appoint a successor in the event of a Senate vacancy. But in 2004, the Democratic Legislature rewrote the law to require a special election because they didn’t want Mitt Romney to appoint a fellow Republican if John Kerry won the presidency. So to revise the law again will open them to charges of hypocrisy — and of a back-room deal designed to help President Obama.

Playing politics in Taxatussets? Nah, couldn’t be.

Mahalo. Big birthday bash tomorrow on the 50th State’s 50th anniversary’
