“I havent heard any truth come out of the Democrats since the election in November...

...or long before that. The last truth I've heard coming from a Democrat was from Zell Miller when he said, “I haven't left my party, my party has left me.” For a pick-er-up reread his speech at the 2004 convention nominating GW Bush for president.

Tell that to your $10/year, shack-dwelling half-brother, Zippy.

Oratory had become pretty much a lost art in this country, then Zippy came along. He used rhetoric to manipulate impressionable minds and now it’s getting old and stale. People are indeed finding “transparency” in The Won...as in ‘everyone sees through him.’

"White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said, "I think the president would orbit the moon if he thought it would help."

Not only can The One walk on water, He can even 'orbit the moon'. What a Guy!

"The O’s big problem here is he is defending something he hasn’t even read."

You're assuming he is capable of reading the document. Do we have any proof of that? Being able to read big letters on a teleprompter is no proof of capability of reading big words in a long document.

He would orbit the moon? Maybe then he should fund NASA more so we can send humans to the Moon again.

As far as the religious rhetoric goes, can you imagine if Bush had said something like that? The elitists would have been screaming he was trying to impose a theocracy and all that. What a double standard.

Has anybody done a superhero comic book parody on this schmuck?

In the right hands, it could be hoot!

I predicted to my wife that after calling opponents Nazis and racists that they would try the religious route.

These people are as predictable as the sun rising in the east

In this context ‘keeper’ is code for ‘ruler’. Now it all makes sense doesn’t it. BTW it’s hard to fathom what the heck this speech was really about. It certainly looks like a tattle-tail whining about no getting his own way. Pathetic for sure....

Disguising evil as good is an ultimate evil. This man is truly very dangerous.

Speechifying, fulminating, preaching. Obama learned a lot from Rev Wright. That's what kept him going to that church. He doesn't go to any church now

Key is impressionable minds. His "soaring rhetoric" as always bs to me
Plus 0 and Axelrod used that old commie idea of creating a cult of personality and to endlessly repeated buzzwords like hope, change, sustainable etc etc. Now they try to sell their "free health care" with buzzwords like "competition". They harvest these words from focus groups and internet word counts. It's a science for them. I'd love to know who or what company is doing it. Probably done in house by Axelrod. Ye old commie wordsmith

Thank you, LikeLight, for challenging the premise. We need to do this every time a Liberal posits a point. Always go back to the premise and nuke it. Good job.

That’s like the old joke about taking Biblical quotes out of context:
“Judas went out and hanged himself.”
“Go therefore and do likewise.”

Axelrod gives the speech’s game plan to Jon Favreau and Ben Rhodes. They distill it into some lovely bovine scatology and Zippy the Used Car Salesman delivers it from behind a prompter.

It’s been a successful formula until now. The presidential townhalls, as rigged as they are, have exposed Zip as a know-nothing fraud. Only the real O-groupies are being taken in by him now.

You and I have been around too long to be flummoxed by the likes of Hussein. Even as a kid, I found JFK’s rhetoric a bit artificial and, sure enough, it was all scripted by Ted Sorensen. Kennedy was, at least, more of a “natural” in impromptu situations than Zippy and even held pressers that seemed to be un-choreographed.

I’m a Southern Baptist and I’ve heard more windy rhetoric from silver-tongued preachers than I care to think about. People like me are “connoiseurs” of high-flown rhetoric from childhood—we’re so used to it that we can spot faux preaching pretty easily.

It comes down to what a departing pastor told me some 20 years ago about the type of minister we should call to replace him: “don’t pick a pulpiteer, they’re a dime a dozen. A man who truly has a heart for people is what you need to find.”

An extremely immature and uncurious electorate picked just that—a “pulpiteer” whose heart feels compassion for himself and not much else.

I was watching part of an old Kennedy presser recently. What came across to me was that JFK actually seemed to like the press corps and was having genuine fun jousting with them. 0bama clearly holds everyone (even the liberal press corps) in disdain and it comes through loud and clear in his tedious and uncomfortable pressers.

Jon Favreau is quite a doer with an impressive Wikipedia entry. He is (obviously) very hi IQ and very driven. What a shame he isn't smart enough to know how harmful socialism is
Jon Favreau is really important. He knows what Obama thinks and wants to say, like an alter ego. The 0bama crap we hear is (mostly) written by a 28 year old! Who went to Catholic college Holy Cross in Massachusetts

0 comes off as insulated and provincial when it comes to certain common sense things. Facts of life that are know to those who cherish capitalism and free markets. 0 is a marked ultra-liberal product of our university system. There are millions more like him

Obama never fooled me but Bill Clinton did for a while. I figured out he was 100% talk and BS only in his second term.
John F Kennedy--- Rhetoric or not he was not a damn socialist. Kennedy was "pre Great Society"

I’m a Southern Baptist and I’ve heard more windy rhetoric from silver-tongued preachers than I care to think about. People like me are “connoiseurs” of high-flown rhetoric from childhood—we’re so used to it that we can spot faux preaching pretty easily.

You had a head start in church lol.
People like to be inspired on Sunday and uplifted from the work a day world. This is completely legitimate. But then you get preachers like Rev Wright and Barrack Obama who exploit this to evil socialistic ends
