As you can see we are now hearing calls from multiple sources for more troops in Afghanistan. The militarys top commander in Afghanistan has talked about more combat troops, Secretary Robert Gates has talked about it, but not officially asked for more troops. The top NATO commander has hinted at the need for more troops.
Now we have Senator John McCain one of the earliest adopters of The Surge in Iraq, which led to a win there, adopting a similar position when it comes to Afghanistan. Senator McCain, a hero of the Vietnam war, is one of the most respected voices in Washington when it comes to military issues and military strategy. Regardless of how you feel about the rest of his policy standpoints, its hard to argue that McCain doesnt understand our troops and doesnt understand warfare.
Already, the White House ordered 21,000 additional U.S. troops to Afghanistan this year, bringing the total by the end of 2009 to a record 68,000. Combined with other NATO troops, more than 100,000 Western forces will be in the country.
We have almost 70,000 troops in Afghanistan, with the possibility of more on the way, and they NEED OUR HELP!
Afghanistan is a tough environment to fight a war in, right now our troops are fighting in the southern province of Helmand, which has long been a stronghold of Taliban resistance.

That is precisely the problem. the obamanation’s goal is not “our” goal which is to protect the United States. They are not “his” enemies. He is already attacking the United States from within.

Obama is also snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq too!
Pray For Our Troops! If Obama is going to refuse to allow them to fight to win in Afghanistan, we need to pull them out ASAP imho.

the Obama Administration ... gradually increasing our involvement, but preventing our troops from using the means they need to win the war conclusively. In March, The One had our Air Force begin dropping non-explosive concrete "bombs". Now, he's got them making noisy low passes instead of dropping anything. It's obvious that our klutz of a President knows nothing about winning wars. I feel sorry for any brave soldier who has to serve under Obama.

Sorry, but my policy will not please most people, no matter which side of this issue they are on.
I think the U.S. needs to redirect the most massive amounts of its military aid to building up, training and supplying a very large, internal Afghan military; as its number one priority, in time and money.
The Taliban attacks ARE going to continue, no matter what our policies and tactics are.
The sooner this becomes the Afghans own war, big time, the sooner millions of Afghan families are invested in winning it themselves, with us providing the means, then the sooner they will willingly supply the eye-for-an-eye brutality against the Taliban needed to defeat them - a necessary event but one our public and political class won’t support if we are the ones carrying it out and taking most the casualties;
because it is a needed brutality in a situation where the enemy IS living and hiding in the civilian population, making big civilian casualties a natural consequence of what it will take to defeat the Taliban.
Unless the Afghan’s have the stomach for achieving this victory themselves, it is already lost because no one can help them long enough to make that victory for them.

Barry wants the military tied up and destroyed.
That way he won’t have to worry about coup.

Juan McCain is an idiot and cannot be trusted. McCain is a known backstabber and liar like Obama. The Obama Admin is filled with Islamists and Islamist sypathisizers. The Saudis elected him. You know there has to be intel leaks to the Taliban on how to kill our soldiers. Bring them home. No way we will get anywhere with Obama in charge. Bring em home and have thousands file lawsuits asking for the BC.

Ostammer is also screwing up all the successes in Iraq that we’ve made. He’s doing nothing to negotiate with the Iraqi government to re-assert control there as the Iraqis slowly lose their grip on the situation.
Ostammer’s ROE is getting our guys killed.
he never even talks about national secuirty. All he wants are reparations.

Obama has never managed anything in his life. So why would anyone expect him to be able to manage a war in Afghanistan?
