Since it doesn’t start until 2013, going to be a lot of dead people from those sob stories. What a load of BS from the Democrat plants.

This will haunt them big time in 2010 and 2012 when GOP points out these facts about Obamacare that will have become true by 2010 or 2012
* working class, middle class Americans are paying higher taxes
* working class, middle class Americans are paying higher premimum for insurance
* millions of additional illegal immigrants and welfare people will be getting free health care

I guess when the facts are not on your side, try phony emotionalism.

Why should we respsond positively to any request to become slaves for the benefit of others (that’s what socialism does in general, and what socialized medicine does in particular,) no matter how nicely framed?

There is no right to food, shelter, or health care beyond what you can provide for yourself and your family. In fact there is no “right” for you or me to levy against another individual for any personal needs.
There is also no provision on the Constitution for the Federal Government to provide these to residents in these United States.
These are the only valid moral arguments.
And emotional arguments be damned. If you want to provide for the “less fortunate” its called “charity.” And you do it with your own money and your own time. Americans are very charitable; if we had more of our own money, we’d be even more so.

Governments aren't moral, people are. The government was never intended to be our teacher of morality, but that responsibility belongs to the family and religion. The government is not “our brother's keeper.” Throughout history there are examples of governments trying to enforce morality, and it has always resulted in total failure. Morality can't be legislated from the top down. All too often, when a government defines what is moral or not, many atrocities are committed. I'm certain that many believe that the ethical imperative: “each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs,” sounded very moral. Look how many lives were destroyed by such a morality.

Bill Maher and the rest of the religion-hating left must be PISSED by the fact that Obama needs to resort to religion to support his policies.

Let’s see.
The Obama’s are going on vacation to Martha’s Vineyard.
Ted Kennedy is nearing his end at the family compound a short helicopter flight away.
What are the chances the an emotional appeal will issue from Obama at Ted’s bedside?

How does one make an emotional and moral appeal FOR a bill that covers abortion and rations care?
If this were just about emotional and moral values, they would spend some of the bizillion $$$ they’ve been printing to expand Medicaid or Medicare, the current “public” plan, to those who are uninsured....but since it’s about SOCIALIZED medicine, the only way to gain control is to claim there is a crisis and destroy the current system.
