Rationing and triage (in which only people to whom immediate medical treatment means a life or death difference receive it) apply in disaster and battlefield situations in which there are simply not enough resources for everybody. We state up front that we do not believe that the American medical system is anywhere near this point, especially because 30 to 60 cents of every health care dollar are squandered on waste and inefficiency. These include administrative costs, inefficiencies such as doctors and nurses having to walk or wait to get or record information, and easily preventable medical mistakes such as medication errors and hospital acquired infections. It is totally irresponsible to even consider rationing and triage while such inefficiencies persist, but Barack Obama, his medical advisor Ezekiel Emanuel, and others in the Obama camp think there is indeed a shortage of medical resources that justifies a rationing and triage mentality. This article will continue under this premise.
Consider a genuine disaster situation in which there is, for example, a shortage of food and water. In such situations, deliberate and willful waste of the scarce resources is dealt with very harshly and perhaps even punished with death–which is normally reserved exclusively for crimes like murder and high treason. ... It is easy to envision somebody who deliberately wastes a lifeboat’s water supply being thrown overboard by the other survivors, with the action qualifying as justifiable homicide. If, as President Obama and Ezekiel Emanuel claim, there is a shortage of medical resources, care should first be denied to those who waste these resources. This is not something we advocate but, if the President and his advisors wish to go down that path, AIDS (unless acquired from a blood transfusion or accidental contact with blood) must be put onto the table for discussion.

The "lifeboat situation" also applies to illegal immigrants. If there is not a shortage of lifeboats, it would be murder or manslaughter to exclude stowaways if the ship sinks. On the other hand, if there is not enough lifeboat space, it would seem reasonable to exclude the stowaways until all legitimate passengers and crew members were in lifeboats. Obama and Ezekiel Emanuel are telling us that there are not enough lifeboats. If so, the stowaways and resource-wasters have to go overboard.

One of the most important questions that should be asked at a townhall meeting:
In the event of a scarcity of medical resources, who do you favor providing with health care first ... a 65 year old American citizen or a 20 year old illegal alien?
Drug addicts deliberately cause enormous harm to their bodies. Ration health care and refuse to treat them.
It is very expensive to provide security and medical care for people on death row. Plus, people on death row are useless eaters who do nothing to justify their health care. Ration health care and don't treat them.
Ration health care for illegals. Exclude them!
Of course, any government plan that does not lead to short-term bankruptcy will include rationing, in one form or another.
Of course, the current system also rations care, through a patchwork of rules, regs, practices, and decisions.
The real issue is who gets to make the decisions and who gets to pay? Are the responsibilities and choices essentially individual or are they collective?
Uh, oh. Now you’ve gone and done it!
AIDS is one of the most expensive medical conditions to treat.
First, people with AIDS live much longer now, which is a good thing understand.
But they have very many medical problems with their longer lives, frequent hospitalization and they do, in the end and still, die before their time and their death takes a long time.
So why can’t I buy a health insurance policy that exempts any AIDS coverage? I live in a part of Delaware with a very large homosexual community but hey, can’t sell health insurance in Delaware exempting AIDS coverage cause dammit somebody’s got to help pay for that expensive health coverage for AIDS patients.
Keeping along these lines, why can’t I buy health coverage exempting pregnancy coverage? I’m not going to get pregnant at my age. Take both of these coverages out the cost for my health policy and I’m thinking it would reduce by 25% or more.
This is what is meant by being able to buy health insurance across state lines. Can’t do it. Cause states make laws for health insurance purchases in their states based on the political needs then upon, NOT to help its citizens on the cost of health care.
If this administration was really serious instead of just peeing on our feet and telling us it’s raining as regards overhauling health care coverage, they’d allow us to buy customized health insurance and get rid of that free for all for the trial lawyers.
Until they do that, do not make the mistake of taking them serious.
Hey, they’re already talking about fat slobs like me not deserving health care...who deserves it less, somebody who likes to down a cheeseburger every now and then, or somebody who deliberately engages in behavior that’ll get them AIDS? Funny how it’s OK to go after smokers and the obese, but drug addicts and high-risk non-monogamous homosexuals never get mentioned.

Democrats, realizing the success of the President’s “Cash For Clunkers” rebate program, have revamped a major portion of their National Health Care Plan.
President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Sen. Reed are expected to make this major announcement at a joint news conference later this week. I have obtained an advanced copy of the proposal which is named....
“CASH FOR CODGERS” and it works like this... Couples wishing to access health care funds in order to pay for the delivery of a child will be required to turn in one old person. The amount the government grants them will be fixed according to a sliding scale. Older and more prescription dependent codgers will garner the highest amounts.
Special “Bonuses” will be paid for those submitting codgers in targeted groups, such as smokers, alcohol drinkers, persons 10 pounds over their government prescribed weight, and any member of the Republican Party.
Smaller bonuses will be given for codgers who consume beef, soda, fried foods, potato chips, lattes, whole milk, dairy products, bacon, Brussel sprouts, or Girl Scout Cookies.
All codgers will be rendered totally useless via toxic injection. This will insure that they are not secretly resold or their body parts harvested to keep other codgers in repair.

Odd isn’t it? With a couple of posts we have shown the Government how to prioritize “rationing” but who really thinks they will listen?
This is a political healthcare bill to get more voters. Period.
So, illegals, drug addicts, AIDS patients, etc, will be UNLIMITED HEALTHCARE. All other non-millionaires, please die.
The voters put evil in office, and evil shall be their reward.

So, when government health care destroys private insurance, and the gov’t picks up the total tab for HIV/AIDS drugs/treatment and all the bennies that go with that politcally correct disease, there won’t be any money for anything else. How would you even calculate the cost?
....And nothing we do for these “victims” has any effect on their behavior.

Surely you jest! What the dems don’t tell you is that aids care will be provided free to all who need it, and that the borders will be opened wide to all with aids, and they will come in and get treated free. To pay for it, of course, granma and granpa will have to take a pill (unless they have aids or are having an abortion or a sex change operation)
This way the dems will repay one of their biggest constituents.
