I can’t see Obama or any of the players in his ship of fools, not even Rahm Emanuel, as being able to think out the game to that point. I think they expected this health (s)care thing to actually come together and have that be the means of social control. They didn’t plan for the effort becoming a laughingstock and making them look really stupid.
