"Mr. Layton and the party brass organized sessions with the successful NDP premiers of Manitoba and Nova Scotia as well as members of the team that helped get U.S. President Barack Obama elected to the White House."

It would be interesting to know just who these Obama-team people were, with such close relationship with the leftmost major party in Canada. If the US Republicans has participated in a conference of the Canadian Conservative Party, you can bet that the left would be howling in outrage.

Oddly enough, most Canadian’s think that Barry O’s election was fantastic, yet we’ve never elected our very own socialist party (the NDP) to power nationally.

Provincially, the NDP has made inroads, but those roads usually end up as a dead-ends. Ontario (our largest province) elected the NDP and resoundingly threw them out of power when given the first opportunity to do so. Nova Scotia surprisingly elected the NDP just recently and that should be interesting to watch.

The problem of course is the promises made vs. the reality’s that occur. They always end up pissing off their base when they can’t deliver the social equality that all true socialist crave. And they piss off independents by being too inexperienced and unable to wield the reins of power... Hmmmm, kind of sounds like the precarious situation that Barry Obama finds himself in at the moment.

Let’s hope that the result is the same and that he is extricated in your next election as the leader of the free world.... LOL
