Overflow Crowd Grills Taylor (RAT Mississippi - over 1,000 attend)

MOSS POINT — U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor answered questions Monday night on health care, defense and tax issues from conservatives, Republicans, Democrats and others during a heated town hall meeting.

About 1,000 poured into the Pelican Landing Conference Center, while many more were turned away when the building was filled to capacity for the highly anticipated talk.

Groups opposed to high taxes and big government are directing people to attend their representatives’ meetings to grill them about President Barack Obama’s health care plans, the economy and other issues.

A good number of local Democrats were also at the meeting supporting Taylor, but also wanting to know Taylor’s position on health care. Some said they supported the president’s plan. Members of crowd kept asking Taylor about health care several times and he repeated he didn’t support Obama’s proposals.

“The health care bill is projected that even with the changes that are coming out, if they are able to get them out of it, it is costing us maybe $900 billion tax dollars more, $900 billion of new debt,” Taylor said. “We just don’t have that kind of money.” Taylor’s opening presentation was interrupted many times by the crowd who shouted questions and made remarks, which were mostly ignored by the Democratic congressman, who instead opted to save those issues for the lengthy question and answer session.

The contentious meeting lasted 90 minutes. Taylor said he holds about two of the meetings a month and would continue to do so.

“I thought it went about as good as it could, given the passion of the (health care) issue,” Taylor said.

At least he’s not hiding from his constituents which is more than we can say for most of the Rats.

These two phrases are interesting to compare:

1. Groups opposed to high taxes and big government are directing people to attend their representatives’ meetings to grill them about President Barack Obama’s health care plans, the economy and other issues.

2. A good number of local Democrats were also at the meeting supporting Taylor,

So to break it down: Democrats: GOOD/LOCAL/SUPPORTIVE
REPUBLICANS/CONSERVATIVES: NOT MENTIONED BY NAME
(implied)... “PEOPLE” DIRECTED BY “GROUPS” TO ATTEND in order to “GRILL”

So there it is. The Democrats are local and there are a good number of them. The rest of the people are simply robots who were told to attend by some interest groups who want to annoy the representative.

ALL THAT imbedded in such a few words, along with linking the double meaning of “good” with Democrats. Do they really think that we can’t finally see this? Do they really think they are being oh so clever and subtle in their language use?

"Members of crowd kept asking Taylor about health care several times and he repeated he didn’t support Obama’s proposals."

How does Gene Taylor know whether he supports Obama's proposal? Obama doesn't have a proposal outside of what comes out of his mouth.

I remember taylor debating Muse on WGCM radio from about 15 years ago... in it he admits that he is for reparations, the DEATH TAX and redistribution of wealth. He admitted that if these things were “socialist”... then he is a socialist. VOTE taylor the YELLOW DOG OUT!

No, he is not hiding, he is willing to meet with his constituents twice a month, AND he calls it ‘passionate’ not Nazi.

Much appreciated.

Did anyone ask him if he planned to read the bill before it comes up for a vote?

What about the fact that the Health Care Bill Part One is part of the Stimulus Bill that 0bama got thru Congress lickety-split?

My Congressman is holding 4 a day all this week. The four yesterday drew an average of 500 each. Bonner said that he usually only has about 17 show up.

Gene Taylor is the worst of the “lap” dogs. He has as much backbone as a bowl of Jello. How often does his vote “mirror” Pelosi’s? I say 85%. Conservative NOT!!!!
