Huckabee says 2 states in Holy Land 'unrealistic'(folloing visit to Israel)
Yahoo News AP ^ | Aug 18, 2009 | STEVEN GUTKIN

Mike Huckabee said Tuesday there is no room for a Palestinian state "in the middle of the Jewish homeland" and Israel should be able to build settlements wherever it wants — taking a stance firmly at odds with Washington....said the international community should consider establishing a Palestinian state some place else.

"The question is should the Palestinians have a place to call their own? Yes, I have no problem with that. Should it be in the middle of the Jewish homeland? That's what I think has to be honestly assessed as virtually unrealistic."

Palestinians already have a place to call their own - "Jordan" (however you will never hear that from the gov't run media)

Palestinians already have a place to call their own - "Jordan"

And Americans already have a place to call their own-Canada.

It's a hard situation for all over there. But Palestinians should not be expected to like being displaced from from what has been their families' home area for generations any more than Americans would enjoy being displaced from their long time homeland by outsiders. How would we like it if our land was annexed by Mexico and the only answer to our protests was being told that Canada is an English speaking land?

There is no “palestine”, nor any “palestinians” but for various conglomerations of islamist arabs which Israel feels compelled - for whatever God forsaken reason - to put up with.

All the Palestinians have to do to have peace is to stop fighting.

Sorry but that has to be the silliest “rationale” I have ever seen posted on FR....

The truth is that the Jews could (and probably will) be forced at the point of a gun-barrel to give up even more land and most of Jerusalem for a so called Pally state - and event that won't be enough the satisfy the Arabs...

Their goal is to drive all Jews into the sea if not killing them outright....

Meanwhile for decades 100s of billions in so called aid and develeoment funds have been handed over to the Pallys - and they have squandered it all - making weapons to kill their Jewish neighbors - rather than building commerce and a meaningful society - i.e. one not built on hate for the Jews

There are plenty of so called “Palestinians” living in Israel undisplaced with full rights including voting.

The so called Palestinians living in the territories are mostly second, third, and fourth generations of people who fled Israel at the urging of the neighboring Arab countries who attacked Israel in 1948 when Israel was first created. War sucks. But they lost. The Arabs that did not flee were given Israeli citizenship.

Palestinians are the only group to claim, and be allowed by the UN, to claim inter-generational refugee status.

Further, these people have also been coming in from Jordan, the real Palestinian state.

Israel was created on 1/16 of the original land promised by the Mandate, a League of Nations/UN plan. The so called Palestinians got the rest.

The Palestinians are engaging in incrementalism to eliminate the Jewish country of Israel. So far they are winning.

Tnks for the comments - agreed

Likewise no arab nation - including Jordan allows “so called Palestinians” to legally immigrate

A “Palestinian” state will only function as a staging base to drive the Jews into the Mediterranean.

Bill Clinton made an awesome deal, and gangstas known as the PA turned it down— peace isn’t their goal.

While I’m not Huckabee’s #1 fan, I’m glad someone is keeping it real about Israel’s security. Leftists and Rightists — even in Israel! — seem to have their heads filled with oatmeal on this issue. Kudos to the Huckster.

Only one problem, though. “Palestinians” have not been living in Israel for generations. If they had, why did UNRWA define a Palistinian refugee as someone having lived in Israel between 1946 and 1948, rather than the usual 10 years. Far from being comparable to asking Americans to move to Canada in the event of a Mexican annexation, establishing a Palestinian homeland in Jordan is more like asking Texans to move from the Rio Grande valley to just north of the Rio Grande valley, if Mexico ever re-annexed it. Jordan annexed “Palestine” in 1953, after occupying it since 1949. “Palestine,” for that matter, includes areas where Jews were murdered and driven out of in 1929 and 1947, their land stolen by the “Palestinians” with the help of the British.
