A woman from a union-sponsored health coalition, writing in a local paper, denounced him for “profiting from people’s misery.”

Isn't that the whole crux of the matter? If not everyone can afford the Mayo Clinic, then no one should have access to it. Furthermore, no one should have access to anything that isn't obtainable by the poorest among us.

I wonder if that same woman has the same attitude towards housing, food, etc.?
