I had a friend in Canada who lived about 30 miles north of North Bay. She was diagnosed with a severe heart problem and was sent to the closest hospital that could perform the necessary tests...in Toronto, about 250 miles away. She was told that she needed triple bypass surgery, but that it could be performed in Sudbury, “only” a hundred miles away. That was the “good” news. The bad news was that she was placed on a waiting list for the surgery—19 months down the road.

She died 3 months later...

For those idiots who think nationalized health care is a better system, they need to answer the question: “Why do border towns like Buffalo, Detroit, Seattle, etc. perform tens of thousands of major surgeries on Canadian patients if their system is so perfect?”

I am so sorry about your friend. My father had emergency open heart surgery twice and would not have survived if they hadn't done it right away. I'd say what your friend went through was no less than state run murder. Now that might sound extreme but, any idiot could figure out if someone has blocked artery's if they don't get help pretty quickly, there going to die.

When Obama talks about health care for everyone is a moral issue, just makes me sick. Especially when you add in his stand on abortion.
