Although Democrats enjoy strong majorities in both legislative houses and California's congressional delegation - and hold all but two statewide offices - the left wing of the party is quite displeased, especially about cuts in health, welfare and education services to close a state budget deficit.
So what does the left want?
. . .
Dante Atkins posted a rough transcript of the discussion by Dave Daye, Jean Ross, Robert Cruickshank and Kai Stinchcombe on the Calitics website, available here.

From the Article: So what does the left want? A more aggressive legislative leadership and big changes in the state constitution, eliminating two-thirds votes for taxes and the budget are big on the agenda. Those and other goals were spelled out during a California-oriented panel discussion at the Netroots Nation convention in Pittsburgh, which featured several bloggers and policy wonks from the state.

Yep. The damned voters have too friggin much power and authority. And the 2/3 requirements for things like tax increases—ridiculous. The left will only be satisfied by the one thing which ALWAYS satisfies the left—absolute power!!

The rats fired 8,500 teachers so they could give one of the 650 boards 850 million. That board CARB wants to put the trucking industry out of business.

There are a lot of people leaving California.
I’m surprised California isn’t charging a sur-tax to leave the state. They, like NJ, tax everything else.
To: tennmountainman
Wouldn’t that be a Big Sur-tax? ;)
