Midnight tomorrow
August 22, 2009 is the deadline to reserve a room at our heavily discounted rate of $116 per night. All attempts to talk the hotel into granting an extension beyond this date at this low price have been fruitless so far. On Saturday the room rate will rise per night. All major hotels have discount reservations cut-off dates for large events.......and we're no exception.
The only alternative for us to retain the low room rate is to reserve an additional block of rooms at the low price and guarantee the block's occupancy to the hotel. However, if the rooms don't fill, the cost will have to be eaten by some unknown cavalry coming to the rescue....so it's not an option we want to pursue.
We hope that everyone who's planning to come to the Convention and National Tea Party will get their reservation in today, tonight or early tomorrow so we don't have to make hard decisions we don't want to make.
Don't forget that if you simply CAN'T make it to our Convention, and if you want to to be a supportive at-home participant in the event, you can make a donation in any amount to lend a helping hand. Just click on the regular
FR donation form and specify in the message square, "I'm Supporting the FR Convention".
