Legal question: Since Van Jones’ outfit started this boycott, is it illegal, or a violation of any ethics laws for a government official to petition and/or coerce private companies to drop advertising sponsorships?

In a sane world it probably would be (though I am not a lawyer). But we seem to live in a world almost devoid of sanity, so who knows?

The Communist Jones should be arrested and given a fair trial. Sounds like Treason to me.

"Legal question: Since Van Jones outfit started this boycott, is it illegal, or a violation of any ethics laws for a government official to petition and/or coerce private companies to drop advertising sponsorships?" It ought to be unlawful if he's being paid with taxpayers money. He's a felon thug...like many of Obama's friends/associates.

I was wondering about this as well since Van Jones is one of the czar’s and this stuff is supposed to be illegal out of the WH.

... is it illegal, or a violation of any ethics laws for a government official to petition and/or coerce private companies to drop advertising sponsorships?Probably, but when has "against the law" ever been an impediment to any of this gang?

... is it illegal, or a violation of any ethics laws for a government official to petition and/or coerce private companies to drop advertising sponsorships? Van Jones is not a government employee, he is Czar, subject to no one.
I know that is not technically correct but for all practical reasons it is.
