I was an RN for years. Americans are treated in Emergency rooms but they pay for the vist. It’s something like $400.00 to go to an Emergency room and see a doctor and receive treatment. The medications in the Emergency are free as well as X-rays, scans etc. IF they are admitted to hospital it costs them a daily fee which will vary according to whether they are in a private room, semi-private or 4-bed ward. Still, the costs would not rival those in the United States. But still, you have a better system.

When I graduated in the late 60’s from Vancouver General Hospital, the care and the access were wonderful. The system is underfunded and now over loaded. There is also now a major shortage of doctors and nurses. A system like ours in a country the size of yours including all the illegals etc. will be more than a disaster. CO
