The vaccine companies are, in fact, immunized from lawsuits by legislations passed earlier this decade. The only recourse to someone injured or to the families of those killed by vaccines is to seek relief from the vaccine injury court, which really means having a government employee sit as judge while Dept of Justice lawyers act as the defense team.

The fact that Congress made a special effort to shield the companies is the smoke to the vaccine injury fire.

I'm still having a problem believing that this is a naturally occurring flu strain - the chance of a pig eating an infected bird's droppings and then spreading it to humans is hard to imagine - so the vaccine controversy just adds to my distrust.

I will, as usual, get the annual flu vaccine since I do think it helps and has no side effects for me. I'm not convinced to get the swine flu vaccine though.
