I agree. I, just like thousands of others buy items at Whole Foods.
Just a note:
The Consumerist website is hosted by anti-establishment types, but sometimes you can find announcements for savings at some stores on their website.
I think you have confused the issues, as another has pointed out.
Plus Beck is a big boy and can handle his "company" just like Mackey is doing. Mackey just doesn't talk "boycott", while Beck plays "victim" by doing so. Beck says he does not believe in boycotts as well..correct?
Also how do you know that companies are not having their contracts come due when issues like this may arise..and may not be "pulling" out of any client relationship because of ideology but because of numbers.
Ask your buddy, Beck.
So are you to speak so narrowmindely..all capitalism..way to make a buck...you have the right to buy "junk" or buy what's healthy. GE enhanced foods are not what most people want to put into their bodies. Nice mix is what most do. People have had their own gardens since the beginning of time..not a rea brillant new concept here! (laughs). The marketing just changed and grew which in term made an income from just road side stands but reached more consumers. Fresh is bad?
We are paying for the sick where many DO NOT, HAVE NOT, NEVER WILL eat healthy. It's a lifestyle many of us enjoy- take it or leave it.
I guess there are grannies out there that smoked and enjoyed a shot of whiskey every day of their adult lives and lived to be 106. (But probably had a garden...that's what saved her!) ;)
Why would you scream that at a farmer's market. I go as often as I can, beautiful natural setting and would just think you were a NUT.
Just returned from our local Whole Foods. No boycott going on there today. Aisles were jam packed. They get more of my business from now on.
...and with the economy in such a bad state of affairs!!
I will stop by tomorrow. The boycott probably people who don't walk WF aisles anyway. Their comments leads me to believe as such. And who would of thought so many FReepers here are anti-organic/fresh food. Fresh is the key! :)
Organic means you have to jump through more state government inspections..so many just drop the title "organic" that have a stellar reputation and go fresh.
Bad note..went to a local superette for Ice Tea (Big)cause I felt like iced tea..tasted it..looked and expired on June 8th '09. I usually look, but I shouldn't have to look! :(
