Iranian Opposition Leader Announces Formation of a ‘Grass-Roots’ Movement

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The Iranian opposition leader Mir Hussein Moussavi announced the formation of a new social and political movement on his Web site on Saturday, following through on a promise made last month and defying a renewed government campaign of intimidation aimed at him and his supporters.

The movement is not a political party — which would require a government permit — but a “grass-roots and social network” that will promote democracy and adherence to the law, Mr. Moussavi wrote in a statement on his site. It is to be known as the Green Way of Hope, in deference to the signature bright green color of his campaign for the June 12 presidential election, which he maintains was rigged in favor of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

I am skeptical of anyone who says they are still supportive of the Iranian Revolution. It may be necessary for Moussavi to say that, but the future of Iran does not include Mullahs.

You also have to consider the bias of the source, The New York Times.

As I was discussing on another post, I was in Europe over the summer, and two things became clear:

First, Iranians are furious with Obama and friends for staying silent and not supporting their movement for Democracy. This was indeed their best chance and opportunity for success and they feel US let them down — they have absolutely no regard or hope for Europeans, as they see them as mullahs’ partners.

Second, in Europe, everywhere the talk was about mullah regime being toast in a few years time; it cannot and will not survive! No one of course should underestimate the mullahs scheming tenacity for survival, but if their most ardent, “prestigious,” partners finally read the handwriting on the wall and start pulling out, it’ll create the deepest psychological blow to the mullahs psyche and that’s when the real animal wars will begin!

No danger of that, the Nazi’s are in the administration.

And I am certainly no supporter of Obozo.

Am sure I am on several “lists” by now. During the Clintonista era my daughter swore that my phone was tapped. Could have been.

“the real animal wars will begin!”

They are definitely subhuman, “ANIMALS”. And should be tried for crimes against humanity for the treatment of “protesters” after the stolen election. Any fair trial would render a guilty verdict.

As soon as there is a viable threat to the Mullahs all hell will break loose. The Mullahs will do their best to crush any resistance. If they are loosing out, follow the money leaving Iran, and the number of flights going to Saudi Arabia.

None of us can predict the future, but I do not believe that the Mullah’s can put the Jeanie back in the bottle.

This started out as a dispute between Mullahs, from what I can see it is now about the Iranian people wanting Freedom. Not Mullahs, Not Communists, Not Dictators, but a Free People.

They can look over the border in Iraq and see that we do not intend to stay. I am sure they would love to have the circumstances of their neighbor now.

Seeds sown by W.

But the Iranians had a history, prior to the Muslims, that respected and revered Freedom.

Even a dingbat can see that the opposition both in Iran and here are spontaneous, not bogus.

On the other hand, dingbats and the mullahs are both liars.
