1978 — BATUS, Inc., the U.S. division of BAT Industries, (British American Tobacco) PLC, purchased an 80 percent stake in the Kohl?s Food and Department Stores and took complete control of the company. At that time, the Kohl family withdrew from the operations of the company.

Your Info is quite out dated.

In 1996,BATUS sold the Kohl's department stores, and two Marshall Field's

Really? Did you check your link thoroughly? Here is what I found at your link:

BAT has diversified into various fields at different times in its history. Its U.S. retail division, BATUS Retail Group, acquired Gimbel's, Kohl's, and Saks Fifth Avenue in the 1970s

My info is out of date? Was 1978 not in the 70s??

In 1996,BATUS sold the Kohl's department stores, and two Marshall Field's

Now, I don't believe Herb Kohl changed his initials to BAT. Do you? So, BAT sold Kohl's to a new investment group -- still not owned by Herb Kohl. Onward with the boycott.
