Oh, but let's not forget that KBH was the one who single-handedly destroyed the Texas-Mexico border fence, shall we?

When the spending bill, which combines appropriations for a number of federal agencies, reached the Senate, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex.) attached S.Amdt. 2466 to the measure in order to silently gut the SFA’s spending requirement. The Hutchison amendment reads, “Nothing in this paragraph shall require the Secretary of Homeland Security to install fencing, physical barriers, roads, lighting, cameras and sensors in a particular location along an international border of the United States, if the secretary determines that the use or placement of such resources is not the most appropriate means to achieve and maintain operational control over the international border at such location.” Thus, critics argue the amendment results in a de facto repeal of the SFA.

Sounds to me like Kay Bailey Hutchison is the one who needs the tutorial on securing the Texas border.

You know, I'm starting to like the Aggie governor more and more.

And compared to Kay Booby-Hatch-and-Some, well, there's not much to compare.

He described his views on Israel in religious terms sure to strike a chord with conservative Republicans.

“I’m a big believer that this country was given to the people of Israel a long time ago, by God, and that’s ordained,” Perry said, offering prayers and nearly unequivocal support for Israel. That stance puts him at odds with many American policymakers and even much of the Israeli populace, who feel that American prodding has kept Israel’s hawks in check.

“Israel does all the giving, and the other side does not reciprocate,” Perry said. “What I don’t understand is this administration’s hesitancy to recognize the sovereignty of Israel.”

‘Slick Rick’ has definitely been showing some ‘clank’ factor lately. But to take that all the way to the White House? Depends on if enough people want another Texan in the WH.

Not sure if Perry is finally seeing the light...or is playing politics

Perry talks border security....but wanted to build taxpayer supported toll roads to make it easier for Mexicans, their drugs, and some of their products...to get across the border. He is a North American Union liberal.

Texas, and the USA, is continually skrewed when Texan politicans refuse to go along with the sealing and securing of the Mexican border

Gov. Perry, this administration doesn’t recognize the sovereignty of the United States!!! Being from Texas, on that border, you should know that.

He’s right about one thing....Mexico is our Palestine, and I would venture to say more Americans have died from illegal/criminal Mexicans than Israeli’s have from Palestinians.

At least 6,348 Palestinians and 1,072 Israelis have been killed since September 29, 2000.

I suspect there are more drug deaths along the Juarez/El Paso border than the combined Palestinians/Israelis deaths over the same time period. I've seen numbers as high as 1800 or so in 2008.

Look at just the Mexico figures for ONE year....and we’re worried about what goes on in the Middle East??

http://www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSN10467351

[snip]But escalating clashes between rival cartels and security forces have left more than 13,000 people dead since late 2006,.....
July was the deadliest month of the drug war to date, with 850 deaths across Mexico. The death toll so far this year is around 4,000, a third higher than the same period in 2008

Exactly. As evidenced by Senate Bill 2466 which she added an amendment to that effectively killed all of the funding for the border fence and its associated staffing and security equipment.

FIRE INVESTIGATORS DETERMINE CAUSE OF LA BREA FIRE (MEXICAN drug cartels!)
Incident Information System ^ | Aug. 15, 2009 | Incident Information System

Date: August 15, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIRE INVESTIGATORS DETERMINE CAUSE OF LA BREA FIRE

GOLETA, CA... A week-long investigation by U.S. Forest Service Special Agents, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and Fire Investigators has revealed the cause of the La Brea Fire. Investigators revealed that the La Brea Fire was started by a cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit has confirmed that the camp at the origin of the fire was an illegal marijuana operation believed to be run by a Mexican National Drug Organization. The Narcotics Unit has been working in the area within the last month eradicating other nearby marijuana cultivation sites.

Although the La Brea Fire started more than one week ago, there is evidence that the unburned marijuana garden area has been occupied within the last several days. The Narcotics Unit has secured the camp area which was located in remote and rugged terrain. It is also believed that the suspects are still within the San Rafael Wilderness trying to leave the area on foot. Officials warn not to approach anyone who looks suspicious but to instead contact the nearest law enforcement agency.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact U.S. Forest Service, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department or local law enforcement agencies.

The investigation continues with cooperating agencies including Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Barbara County Fire Department, CalFire, and other local agencies.

The La Brea Fire Tip Line is still open, and anyone with additional information helpful to this ongoing investigation is urged to contact investigators at (805) 686-5074. Your call may remain anonymous.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department will release more information regarding the Narcotics investigation on Monday. The media contact at the Sheriff’s Department is Drew Sugars, Public Information Officer, at 805.681.4192.

For media inquiries regarding the investigation of the cause and origin of the La Brea Fire, contact the U.S. Forest Service at (805) 961-5707, and an investigator will return you call.

·Jointly released with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit·
