Portland may well the most far-left city in the United States. I know someone on the Portland Development Commission. He is a big-time socialist.

You under valued just how far left Portland really is...the comments section after the article on OregonLive is full of punks applauding the defacing of the petitions because they are the tools of white republican racist homophobics...and several of the posters only know how to post in CAPS.
The Hollywood Star is a free monthly rag that is distributed from stacks usually found above the trash in local fast food businesses.

Portland is pretty liberal, but still has blue-collar enclaves. It doesn’t come close to San Francisco.
