Regardless of what any of us think of Medicare, I am sick and tired of hearing Obama equate Medicare to his socialized healthcare program that will force every working person to subsidize free (to them) health care for illegals and the entire Moocher class.
I wish someone in the audience would point out to Obama that there is a big difference between Medicare and his socialist revamping of the entire healthcare system.
Medicare is a contributory program (at least as originally conceived). Oldsters legitimately on Medicare have paid into the system every payday and so have their employers. Their contributions may not pay the full cost of their coverage but they have at least contributed something.
Under Obamacare, workers will continue to contribute to Medicare while moochers and illegals get the same or better healthcare at no cost to them.
