I just returned from a Tom Coburn Town Hall Meeting this morning.

While waiting to get in line a woman carrying a 'Public Option' sign up and down the line stopped, looked me directly in the face and said 'You're A Racist'. She didn't know me from Adam. In addition she and her cohorts let someone cut in line.

Actually I would say, “I FOUGHT FOR YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS BEFORE YOU WERE BORN. DEMOCRATS TRIED TO KILL ME FOR THAT.”

True story: I got bushwhacked by five dixiecrats for supporting the 1964 Civil Rights Act. It was pretty lonely being a Republican in Texas back then.

Interesting enough, all the debating between Churchill and Astor was due to the fact that she was a notorious Leftist, and Churchill, of course was a staunch conservative. Churchill's uncle was the Duke of Marlborough, so it wasn't like he had to take crap from her!

Astor was one of the founders of socialism and the Labour party of Great Britain. I also believe she was an American who married into the aristocracy class, iirc.

You can deny that you never stopped because you never started, but then comes the followup questions.....

I have decided that is they ever do it to me, I will say nothing and just punch the A-hole in the nose. I know that will lead to a arrest and charges, but I don't know how else to gain control of the soap box.

Screw em. If they had a respectable work ethic and WORKED (legal, of course), this nation wouldn’t be having this discussion. This entitlement BS has gone too far. I thought the mule and 40 acres (not to mention the thousands of white life lost) took care of everything post-civil war?

I have no problems with the Mexicans coming to the US to work. In fact, I love their culture and their respect for family and old people. Hell, they are the only ethnic group in my area of the country willing to work (be it on a roof, on a highway, milk a cow, etc). As visitors to the US, all I would expect is for them to be here legal.

If the government can cut off medical dollars to seniors or sick babies because it’s not “cost effective”, how long do you think it will be before the government decides that it is also not “cost effective” to keep throwing billions of dollars into HIV/AIDS research and treatment?

I think I would have laughed in her face. Not even bothered to try to answer, just laughed and then turned my back on her. Most of these people take themselves so seriously that they will never hear your words, so I don’t bother trying to change their minds. But, they can’t stand to be ridiculed or treated as though they are of no consequence. So that’s what I do. I treat them like their words don’t matter, because to me, they don’t.

Not on my part, I don’t hate peole that say this, but I would make her defend herself, and look like an idiot (to those around, like she surely would) if two things happen:

1) I didn’t act mean/snappy in response, and Her (baseless) point is shown to be just that baseless and unsubstanitiated as it surely would be since the author of this vanity was not a racist!

2) 2ndly, Alinsky has nothing on Jesus Christ, IMO.
