From all that I have heard, it sounds like the scale of changes inherent in this bill are enough reason for disaster, even if the changes were not so objectionable. Any minor part of the plan is controversial enough to deserve a national debate. You can't just reinvent such a large part of the US economy like this without enormous cost just in making the adjustment. And, of course, all these changes would be experimental in nature. They would all require “fixes” with followup legislation. Our economy is not in such good shape to simply absorb all of this. How much money currently flows through insurance companies, and what is going to happen to them if this passes, and how will that affect us all as they adjust or fail? Speaking of the delivery method, we make choke on the pill regardless of the poison in it.

The article makes a good point, the Health plan is bureaucracy run wild. Faceless unionized government employees by the hundred of thousands in a new agency who will soak up tax dollars that otherwise would have gone to delivery of health services to patients under our present private insured system.

This huge new waste is on top of the inevitable waste any government program has in making the plan do its purported job. We will have waste squared or cubed, not doubled.

Also the bureaucrats and their masters will have information about every American’s most private matters, not just health statistics. Big Brother 1984 taken to the n’th degree. We stop it now or will be forever screwed.
